Financial Policies

It is our desire to deliver excellent care at a reasonable cost. Chiropractic care achieves results faster and is generally less expensive than other medical treatments. After the treatment plan is determined, our insurance expert will present you with financial information obtained from your particular coverage company.

Insurance

We will file any necessary insurance claim forms for you and work out a payment plan for the amounts that insurance may not cover. Newman Chiropractic participates with many insurance plans, including Blue Cross, Medicare, and PPOM.

Medicare

Medicare covers chiropractic care. They have certain requirements, such as having a current exam and x-ray, however they will not pay for those services. There is a limit of 12 visits per year for a condition, with the possibility of obtaining approval for more visits. Medicare normally has a $100 per year deductible for all medical visits, and then they pay 80% of the fee.

Medicare Supplements

There are a variety of Medicare-supplemental insurance policies, and we will file these claims for you. Some of these cover deductibles and co-pays for adjustments. Most Medicare patients do have a small portion of out-of-pocket expense even with a supplement insurance.

Workman's Compensation

Chiropractic care is covered by Workman's Compensation. The patient must notify us that he has been injured at work BEFORE his care begins so that we can follow the protocol required by the Workman's Compensation laws. We must have a "permission to treat" notice from the patient's employer if we are treating the patient within the first 10 days of his treatment. If a patient has been unsatisfied with his employer's approved treatment options after 10 days of care, the Workman's Compensation law permits him to seek care with the doctor of his choice. If a patient has been injured at work, he must report that injury to his employer. We cannot bill a patient's regular insurance company for an injury sustained at work...it MUST be billed as Workman's Compensation.

Personal Injury (auto)

Auto Insurance covers chiropractic care. Please let us know of your accident on your first visit to our office so we can file the proper forms. If you have a Coordination of Benefits policy, you may be required to pay a deductible. If your regular health insurance carrier is an H.M.O., they may have the right to limit your choice of providers.

Uninsured

About 30% of our patients have no insurance covering chiropractic care. We will work with you to find a payment option that is workable in your budget.
