What Can I Expect During My First Visit to a Chiropractor?

At Newman Chiropractic, you will first complete a confidential health history. To save you time at the office, you can print that form from our website, and bring it to our office on your first visit.

You will then consult with Dr. Newman or Dr. Mikulak. This consultation is your opportunity to express your health concerns and expectations, and to ask any questions you may have pertaining to the matter. It is also for the Chiropractor to express his role in your health care and discuss your health prognosis. If your condition does not appear to be a condition that chiropractic can help, you will be referred to an appropriate type of provider.

If yours appears to be a condition that chiropractic can help, a physical exam will be performed which may include orthopedic testing, reflex assessments, muscle testing, and a specific Chiropractic evaluation. In some cases x-rays may be necessary to determine an exact diagnosis. X-rays can usually be done at our office or transferred from their previous location..

Your doctors will then take time to go over all of your findings in great detail to determine your best course of action. You will be scheduled for a complete report of findings.

When your findings have been reported to you, the doctors will make their recommendations of care for your consideration. Then, depending on your situation, the doctor may give you a spinal adjustment and begin your therapy.
